11.00 - 12.30 - Complex Needs Arts: Pretty much the same as Tuesday's group (see below) but with the focus on those who might need a bit of help to make their art. It's still open to all though it's just that we help each other out a bit more in this one.

2.00 - 3.30 -  Experimental Music Free for All: A jam session with no particular agenda and the foundation of our free music band Jamaica!!, this session is about improvising and making a cathartic racket than trying to be note perfect and currently we're focussing on non-traditional instruments and everyday objects

11.00 - 12.30 - Art History: In this group we check out the work of other artists and art movements.

2.00 - 3.30 - Arts: Warhol's factory wasn't half as busy as ours is - Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons are when we get into fine arts mode with the help of working artists Morag and Lena. The group is seriously into making art and we believe it's an(other) area we excel at. We sometimes have group projects if we're preparing for a themed exhibition or if we're checking out a new art style / technique but we mainly encourage artists to develop their own styles and ideas as we feel this is where the gold is. We are very proud of all our artists and hope to be publishing art books showcasing their work in the near future. You can check out examples of our artists work here on our ART blog.

11.00 - 1.00 - Film Club: The film club - curated films from a variety of genres with a different theme each month.

May's Theme: Werner Herzog.

May 2nd - Into the inferno
May 9th - Rescue Dawn
May 16th - Grizzly Man
May 25th - Fitzcarraldo (with commentary).

2.00 - 3.30 - Video Drama: In this session we make our short weekly comedy film from scratch, the group starts with the group getting a plot together and once that's done we film it and then watch it back, all in one 2 hour session. The films we make are irreverent and up-front and we think they're very, very funny. The films are later edited and uploaded to Youtube - Here's one of our favourite episodes:

11.00 - 1.00 - Sound Off - This session is our self-advocacy/campaigning group in conjunction with Safety Net - It's a lively session and a chance to have a vent and find ways of having our voices heard. (currently held every second friday)

2.00 - 4.00 - Song / Band Practice: This is the session where we polish up our musical chops and work on getting our songs together, it's still open to all though as the Gate band doesn't have a fixed membership. We're currently working on honing some of our songs for a big performance in September and for upcoming recording sessions.
