Triple Premier + Jubilee: Premier League; Mr Amazing's new music Premier; Premier Fan Letter and a bit of Queen's Platinum Jubilee

 Hey Gate Kicks fans,

As the title says, we are celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee plus a triple premier. Our presenters talked about Chelsea and the Premier League. Our music star Mr Amazing premiered his latest hip hop songs and we got our first Fan Letter something that is very rare these days with all the tweets, whatsapp, texts, emails and digital ways of communicating. So let's celebrate these Premiers and Jubilees listening to this episode of Gate Kicks!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO OUR FAN. WE WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO THE GATE SOON!!!

It was broadcast on Resonance FM last Wednesday 1th June.

New tunes via Zoom.

Making music via Zoom has probably been one of the most challenging aspects of continuing our service under lockdown conditions, as usual though our guys have risen to the challenge - here are some recent tracks made by Labake, Duane and Richie in a new zoom session we're running. Enjoy!

Upgate 09/02 *Happy Retirement Angus!*

As most of you know, a few times a year we hold police training at the Gate where our guys are interviewed by detective police officers so they can hone their detecting skills... Throughout the large part of this project Angus has been in charge, but he's reached the age where he'd like to hand in his gun and badge. We decided it'd be fitting for us to hold a party for him here at the gate, so below you can see the song we recorded for him, pictures of the party and a special video drama just for Angus.

The Gate meets Alan Courtis, 08.03.17.

Leon - I met Alan Courtis on Tuesday and I said hello. We started with taps round the chair and finger pointing and loud and soft then we started to play with him and it sounded really good. It would be nice if he could come again to do some more stuff. He's really good making sounds from instruments everywhere in the room. I was sitting on the chair watching a film before we came on it was good picture they show other films then I was cracking a story after the film. I sat with the others and listened to what he had to say and I looked back at the screen and they were playing good music on the film. It was good from the start. Oh yeah, Alan played as well right at the back on different instruments but we had to slow down and back fast we had to take turns round the room. I had to wait for a bit but I looked everywhere just in case it comes back there then it came but the whole thing was great. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS GIG AND THANKS TO ALAN FOR COMING PLEASE COME BACK IT BE NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN. CHEERS MATE.

Labake - Alan Courtis came to the gate and showed us how to play great music and we had a great time and we learnt haw to play different instruments it was great, everyone had fun  it was fantastic, everyone played something. I enjoyed playing the drums something I've never done and now music is is all I think about, I write and sing my own songs and I did what i do best, I sang.

Jason - Alan was a pretty cool guy, I'd like him to come again. I liked the talk he gave about people with disabilities because he showed pictures of people with learning disabilities playing music.

Kashan - It was very nice music. Alan was very good.

And here's our radio show featuring music from the show and interviews with Alan and various audience members -

Christmas Time

Hello Everyone,

Since it's the time that tinsel appears everywhere and tree's decide it's appropriate to come indoors, the Gate produced a Christmas song to support this movement.

'av a merry one!

The Gate's Christmas Song.

"This song is called Christmas Time that I wrote and recorded with the help of my friends at the Gate, I hope you enjoy it." Labake.

Halloween Tune

Our resident Hip Hop Group: Collective Strike (2Decks, LM Dubs & Mr. Amazing on this recording) got in the Studio over the last couple of weeks to produce this track especially for Halloween, enjoy!

Francis singing and playing the keyboard.

Francis is a very talented man and he's enthusiastic and a bundle of joy and he loves to make people laugh, I'm very happy to be his partner. I met him here at the Gate years ago and we got engaged and we wrote a couple of songs. Francis likes to sing and he likes to play the keyboard and here he is making up one of his songs on the spot.

Words by Labake.
